As a center of innovation, future parc offers far more than just research. The forerunners to the new generation of ICT products will be presented by higher education institutions, large research facilities and all major German research institutes. Spin-offs and start-up companies will also be showcasing their latest innovations in this sector.

Every year at CeBIT, a center of ideas and innovation for IT and communication products, over 91,600 visitors from politics, business and science and specialists from other CeBIT areas, such as software, have the opportunity to catch up on the very latest prototypes and trends that will represent the state of the art in a few years' time.

The focus at future parc is therefore not on ready-to-market products and applications but on ideas, developments and technological visions. Once again, the event will be held under the patronage of the German Federal Minister of Education and Research. This adds greater weight to the goal of applying the results of IT and telecommunications research to real-life business and industrial production
